# Events
Manage all of your events
## About Events
**The event is the nucleus of everything that happens on Movemint. They are a core part of endurance culture, and are the metaphorical and functional connective tissue that links together all the different parts of Movemint.**
An event on Movemint is a dynamic and powerful tool that integrates everything organizers need to host amazing endurance events.
Events on Movemint include:
1. **An event page**\
The event page is the home for your event on Movemint that provides all the event details, pricing, e-commerce and more.
2. **Registration and Checkout**\
Movemint's registration experience allows participants to sign up quickly with user-friendly flows, is mobile-optimized, and offers all modern payment options like Apple Pay.
3. **Customizable sub-events**\
Organizers can create registration categories, called sub-events, within their event. These highlight unique events within the larger event, like age-groups, different event distances, or gendered categories.
4. **Integrated e-commerce and fundraising**\
Events can include merchandise sales and fundraising options directly on the page, allowing organizers to integrate all parts of their event experience in one place.
5. **Communications tools**\
Movemint events include tools like texting and email campaign building that help organizers stay connected to their audience before, during, and after race day.
6. **Integrations**\
Organizers can easily link their Movemint to Strava to create dynamic and savable course maps. For athletes who link their Strava to Movemint, their Activities are automatically matched to any event on Movemint.

There are two types of events on Movemint: free and paid. Free and paid events have similar functions and tools with some key differences.\

**Hosting an event on Movemint is free for organizers.**

Paid events are events that have paid registrations, sell merchandise, collect donations, or all of the above.\

Paid event organizers will need to either set up a Stripe account or link and existing Stripe account to make their paid event "live".

Free events have many of the same features as paid events and are faster to set up.
Free events cannot have paid registrations, cannot sell merchandise, or collect donations.\
\
Free events are best for social or club events where organizers want an easy way to manage participants in their event, communicate with email and texting, and have participants sign waivers.
